Háttér Society, founded in 1995, is the largest and oldest currently operating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI) organization in Hungary. We aim to call attention to the problems faced by LGBTQI people and provide legal, sexual health, and mental health support services. Besides providing help services for PLHIV (HIV hotline, HIV peer support service, self-help groups for PLHIV and chemsex users), Háttér’s HIV/AIDS program focuses on STI prevention too. We run condom vending machines and various HIV/STI prevention and awareness campaigns while distributing leaflets at various LGBTQI venues and events.
